How to play Crabada – detailed guide

Crabada is a play-to-earn idle game built on the Avalanche network. At the moment of this writing you will be surprised to see that actually, the game is not available on any platform for download. And apparently, the project is halted, according to the message featured on their official website. However, since we are here to show you how to play crabada in case the game revives, let’s get straight to the point. Before we tackle the game rules and strategies, let’s take a look at what Crabada is.

What is Crabada?

Crabada is a highly popular play-to-earn game on the Avalanche blockchain. With more than 12,000 active wallets, it ranked as the 24th most popular crypto game in April 2022. Remarkably, it accounted for 64% of all weekly transactions on Avalanche during a time when crypto games weren’t in the limelight. Set in a world inhabited by combative hermit crabs called Crabada, players have the opportunity to earn through various in-game activities such as mining looting. Beyond just combat, the game stands out for its distinctive economic model.

How to play Crabada – Game Economy of Crabada

Unlike many crypto games that utilize one or two tokens, Crabada incorporates a three-token system:

Crabada (CRA) – The Governance Token:

By the close of 2023, Crabada will feature three games: Idle Game, Battle Game, and Farm Game. Each game provides a three-month period to earn CRA. While the Idle Game’s period has elapsed, players can still gain CRA from the Battle Game or the upcoming Farm Game. This token can also be purchased on decentralized exchanges on Avalanche, like Trader Joe.

Treasure Under Sea (TUS) – The In-Game Currency:

TUS can be earned via game battles, such as looting. However, alternative avenues to gain TUS include mining or lending Crabs at the Tavern.

Crabada Amulet (CRAM) – In-Game Perks Token:

By staking CRA tokens, players can earn CRAM. Possessing CRAM offers advantages, like the capability to form a larger team, which allows participants to engage in more games and thereby increase their earnings.

In a nutshell, Crabada is not just a game about battling crabs but an intricate play-to-earn platform with a multifaceted economic system.

How to play Crabada step-by-step guide

Crabada, a play-to-earn game, requires players to form a team of three crabs for the main game modes. While players can earn passively with a single crab by renting it out, forming a full team is essential for the primary gameplay.

In the Marketplace, crabs come with a high price tag, approximately $1,500 each, meaning a team will set you back around $4,500. Despite its steep entry cost, the potential return has made it popular, driving up crab prices.

Game Mechanics

Operation: Players form teams with three crabs to partake in mining expeditions, blending PVE and PVP elements to earn game tokens: CRA and TUS.

CRA is the governance token, whereas TUS serves as the farming token.

Mining expeditions let crabs mine for 4 hours, during which they might be ambushed by another player’s team in a “looting mission.” Successfully defending rewards 3.75 CRA and 303.75 TUS. If defeated, one gets lesser game rewards while the opponent takes the lion’s share.

Battle Dynamics: Crabs have two types of points:

BP (Battle Points) influences attack/defense power.

MP (Mined Points) reduces the chances of being attacked and improves the likelihood of winning through a “miner’s revenge” mechanic. This feature was added to balance gameplay and prevent dominant teams from monopolizing victories.

Classes and Factions

To enhance gameplay variety and strategy, different crab classes and factions were introduced. Following an overuse of the ‘bulk’ class, factions were integrated to create a rock-paper-scissors dynamic, ensuring no one class remains unbeatable.

Currently, there are six factions and eight crab classes. Some classes share factions to create diverse battle dynamics.

Tavern and Breeding

Apart from mining and looting, players can rent out crabs to aid others during defence, using the Tavern feature.

Breeding allows two crabs to produce an egg, which hatches into a new crab after five days. This process has associated costs in CRA and TUS. It offers players a slow but steady path to build a team, starting with a single crab.

While the rewards from the tavern are modest, this strategy lets players with limited capital engage in the game, gradually earning enough to expand their team. Remember, the game has risk elements, but with patience and strategy, one can grow their assets over time. If new to the world of crypto, platforms like Binance can facilitate game participation.
